Resolution to Amend the Fiscal Year 2023 Council Approved Budget to Accept and Appropriate the Fiscal Year 2023 Court of Virginia Behavioral Health Court Docket Grant Awarded by the Supreme Court of Virginia
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The Fiscal Year 2023 Court of Virginia Behavioral Health Court Docket Grant provides funding for one (1) part-time administrative position to assist with data entry within the Hampton General District Court and related operational expenses.
Discussion:
The part time administrative position will assist with data entry into the Supreme Court Database for the Behavioral Health Docket.
Impact:
The City of Hampton has been conditionally awarded $25,000 in State funds from the Supreme Court of Virginia. Grant proceeds will be used to fund one (1) part-time data entry and administrative position and operating expenses. No local match is required.

Approve.

WHEREAS, the Supreme Court of Virginia has awarded the Fiscal Year 2023 Court of Virginia Behavioral Health Court Docket Grant in the amount of $25,000 in State funds;
WHEREAS, the grant does not require a local match;
WHEREAS, the grant proceeds will be used by the Hampton Behavioral Health Docket to fund one (1) part-time administrative and data entry position and operating expenses.
WHEREAS, the grant proceeds will be dedicated to improving data entry and administration of the Behavioral Health Docket.
WHEREAS, the grant award is for the period of December 15, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia hereby amends its Fiscal Year 2023 Council Approved Budget to accept and appropriate the Fiscal Year 2023 Court of Virginia Behavioral Health Court Docket Grant award in the amount of $25,000, and any supplemental funding, awarded by the Supreme Court of Virginia to the Grant Fund for the purpose of funding one (1) part-time data entry and administrative position and operating expenses to support and enhance the Hampton Behavioral Health Docket in accordance with the grant agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the City Manager, or her designee, to take any and all actions necessary to implement this grant award.
