Briefing on the Five Year Consolidated Housing Plan
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
This briefing is to provide background for City Council on the upcoming housing planning process and to introduce the consultants that will be supporting the process.
Discussion:
The City of Hampton receives funding annually from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership programs (HOME). One of the requirements for receiving these funds is the development of a five year Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development to provide policy direction for the next five years of funding decisions.
Impact:
The plan the results form this planning process will set the five year direction for funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that will further City Council's Strategic Housing priorities and Community Plan housing policies.
